Dutch Classic, Reborn
From setback to statement this project transforms loss into a vibrant expression of resilience. The reconstructed Dutch gambrel pairs enduring form with a reimagined interior tailored to a young family of four. Programmatically, the home balances intimacy and hospitality: four primary bedrooms anchor daily life while a guest wing provides privacy and independence for extended family and visitors. A dedicated baker’s pantry enhances the kitchen’s functionality, supporting both craft and gathering, while a sunken conversation pit offers a sculpted, immersive space for media and social connection. Covered outdoor dining and lounge areas extend the living experience year-round. A bold, playful use of color animates each space, reinforcing a sense of renewal.
